The Eastern Highlands is an excellent travel destination. Sights nearby include Bvumba Botanical Gardens; Bhunga Forest Reserve, Bvumba Trading & renowned Tony’s Coffee Shop. North of the hotel, the lush Pungwe View, Honde View and M'tarazi Falls, the second highest waterfall in Africa. To the South hot springs and the magnificent Birchenough Bridge, a 330 metre steel-arch suspension bridge replicating Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Bvumba Mountains lie on the Zimbabwe-Mozambique border, south east of Mutare. The Bvumba rise to Castle Beacon at 1911 metres and are referred to as the "Mountains of the Mist", (Bvumba is the Shona name for "mist").

Climate
Often the early morning starts with a mist which clears by mid morning.
Winters (May to September) are warm with sunny days and cool, clear nights. Overnight frosts and freezing temperatures are not uncommon. Light “guti” rain may occur any time but the rainy season is during the summer months of October to April.
How to get there:
Private Light Aircraft into Perrems Airstrip in Mutare, by prior arrangement. Drive to Mutare ex-Harare or via Masvingo in the south. Flights into Harare from Johannesburg include air Zimbabwe, SAA, BA Comair & SA Airlink. International markets accessed by Air Zimbabwe out of Harare include London, Singapore, Guangzhou, Beijing and Dubai.
